UPDATE at 3:00 p.m. EST on 11/4: Kevin’s radio appearance has been changed to Thursday, November 5 at 12:05 p.m PST.
ABC California Government Affairs Director and TheTruthAboutPLAs.com contributor Kevin Dayton will be on “The Capitol Hour with Eric Hogue” radio talk show today from 12:05 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. PST on KTKZ 1380 AM out of Sacramento.
One discussion topic will focus on how California Unions for Reliable Energy (CURE) blocks energy infrastructure projects with environmental objections until the developers sign project labor agreements (PLAs) with unions, thus giving unions a monopoly on construction.
The tactic is called GREENMAIL and you can learn more about it here.
The focus will be on the reprehensible vote on November 2 of the Northern California Power Agency (NCPA) commissioners to approve a PLA for the $450 million Lodi Energy Center (including, much to the delight of Big Labor, a $90,000 direct and immediate payoff to a union slush fund) to avoid CURE’s attempts to delay the project. The TruthAboutPLAs.com covered this story here, here and here last week and Kevin Dayton wrote an interesting piece about it for The Fox and Hounds Daily blog (“What Budget Crisis? Greenmailing The Northern California Power Agency,” 10/29).
This broadcast can be heard on the radio from Chico to Merced in the Central Valley and even in some parts of the East Bay and North Bay.
